A lifetime of Art by Helga

As a young child, my sense of extreme joy came from my creativity.

I could create pictures in my mind from dots on the ceiling. I would use any means I could get my hands on, fabric, yarn, paper, rocks, paint, plaster, and Adobe PhotoShop to create a beautiful environment.

My career started when I was 18, in the sign shop of Sea World San Diego, then I progressed to the Scenic Arts Department, painting murals, and sculpting large sets.  So after that, I ended up as their "Costume Designer," all within a 3-year period.

I was young and ambitious and thought I had the whole world of opportunities in my hands. So next I worked in graphic arts and advertising. That is when I created my true masterpieces, my four children. While raising them I worked as a sculptor and designer at Sunshine Minting in Idaho.

I made my way to Florida where I drew portraits and caricatures of chalk at Disney World and Sea World. Talking to people from all around the world, while drawing them was a truly phenomenal experience, which I treasure to this day.

I've illustrated children's books for Paul Kramer.  I have written a few of my own children's stories which I hope to have published.

Now, I spend every chance I get with my first love painting. I feel that I am motivated in breaking new ground and evolving every day to inspire the mind and soul with original ideas.

I intend to keep creating the rest of my life. It brings me unexplainable happiness to take a blank canvas and give it the emotions, which are buried deep inside of me.

I credit my absolutely perfect mother for any talent or success that I have now and in the future, for she was my spirit and biggest supporter.

At this time my gallery is bursting at the seams with paintings that I would be very honored and excited to display and share with the world.
